Thank you doing all this "leg-work" and then sharing it with the community. It is a virtual treasure trove. Until I found this thread, I figured the issue was my computer. I was just going to shelve DAI until I could afford to build another (years from now). Like many people however, I have no issues running other games... I have a heavily modded Skyrim game that only crashes rarely after playing for hours non-stop; for example...
I have to say, I had no plans to get DAI until it was on sale and after a year or 2 of solid reviews, but someone purchased it as a christmas gift for me. Experiencing this train-wreck of a launch firmly puts me on the side of the fence to no longer purchase Bioware/EA games until they are available used, at heavy discount and have a wealth of positive genuine unpaid-for reviews. I avoided DA2 and ME3 by waiting so patience served me well there. Really wish I would have done more research before breaking the seal on this "free" game. I would have returned DAI for a game that I can actually play...
Really hope they (Bioware) get this fixed...
