I posted earlier about having issues with DAI and I have fixed one of the problems I was having. I was just looking around in my pc today through hardware and drivers and stuff and I found that for some reason one of the cores on my cpu was not being used. I had to reset my bios taking my cmos out and now that my cpu is recognizing all cores the game seems a bit better. The main screen is not stuttering and freezing anymore, I'm able to go through menu options without having to wait so ya that is great for me. My cpu temps have dropped down to the lower 60s so that's really good BUT the game is still utilizing almost 100% of the cpu.
Maybe someone could get some use out of this info, maybe not, hopefully so. I'll play a while and monitor my system.
edit: cut scenes seem to be fine now as well. I am still going to put a new coat of thermal paste on my cpu tomorrow though and take my pc apart and clean it up. It may not seem like it would matter but there has been many times that a good clean out of my pc has changed its performance a lot.

In some situations high temperatures force components to throttle clock speeds. I'm not sure entirely about your 7870 getting too hot but I've read they throttle at 80C.
