PC: Unable to connect to multiplayer games: "..session lost"

I receive a "...session lost" error when attempting to connect to a custom multiplayer game with friends after an invite. I receive the same message as soon as one of my friends attempts to connect ...

My friend and I are both having this exact same issue, including the "session lost" looping problem.

We have also tried adding firewall exceptions, but it made no difference.

We can both connect to the DA:I servers without any problem, it is only the multiplayer host.
