This is weird. Usually when it regresses I pause the download, completely exit Origin and open it again, then resume the download. This recovers some of the progress. But the weirdest thing is, before I unpause it, it shows the progress as if it had never regressed in the first place!
It's like it saves the progress but at the same time it doesn't.

When getting the 16EB/24GB issue restarting the client seems to at least partly work around the the problem.
It has allowed me to resume from ~1.86GB downloaded only time will tell if it allows me to complete the download (albeit with a number of restarts to workaround this stupid issue with the client).
I wish EA would give up with Origin and go back to using Steam, I have far less issues with Steam.

@Roger_Griffiths I sent you a PM. You can check it by visiting this link.
@bookerdewitty Thanks for your reply to the PM!
Over all we are still investigating the issue.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused!

I just got to 99% and it went back to 77%.
I even let it download over the entire day while I was at work. Never finished. I'm downloading at 10-11 MB/s.
This is insanity.

Of course it's an inconvenience. The game released over twelve hours ago and I don't even have half of the bloody thing downloaded due to your janky **bleep** service. Woops, never mind it's back down to about thirty percent now. Seriously, what the hell is going on? I've been in contact with various members of your "support" staff since Saturday and you guys still have no idea what's going on??? This is ridiculous. I've never encountered any problem like this on legitimate clients like Steam or GOG. I know I probably shouldn't, but I expect better of such a massive company like EA.
Apologies if I sound frustrated, but as you can clearly see, I am.

Quite honestly it's amazing how outright incompetent you all seem to be. This is one of your major triple A titles, the same product that you shell out god amounts of money to promote and 'incentivize' journalists to award game of the year or whatever else, and folks can't even download it, let alone the other problems flooding in about this game.
You know the popular demand for the game, you had pre-loading set up and you should by now be able to handle the stress that would be put upon your servers. And yet here we are, being fed the same run around excuses and told we'll get PM's because you have no real answers or solutions, and just want to distract folks as other buy into it. Either give us a working product, or give us our money back.
- 11 years agoSame thing is happening to me except with Sims 4. My download Gets up to 50% begins to regress until it is at -50% then I get a message that says they are experiencing difficulties and a numberwhich is 262150:131086.
