Honestly there's nothing to stop us from just pirating it at this point. They had weeks to prepare for this, threw around the preload and everything, and yet here we are. Unable to download the game, the support staff utterly clueless to the point of incompetent, and now with the EU buyers now able to get it, we're gonna see this problem and the other criticial issues just pouring in.

While I do not condone software piracy, I see no issue in this due to the fact that we paid for the product and are just obtaining it from a different source. The only issue is the dubious nature of a lot of the copies, and then there's the DRM scheme used that *might* become an issue.
That said, if you were to get a version that was just a grab from Origin directly, then there should be no issue. My *workaround*, if you can call it that, was to start the download in my Origin, exit Origin while it was still running, getting a friend's version, transfering it from a portable drive to my system, and then restarting Origin and allowing it to 'finalize'.
After that, smooth sailing. This is FAR from what I consider proper treatment, but it is something that should work.
