Yeah pretty ridiculous suggestion really. I've dealt with steam support a bunch of times over the years and their troubleshooting has never come to asking me if I have origin open and that I should exit it haha.
I've also been downloading since the 17th my time and it is now the 21st and so far we have some very default responses and a 2nd hand promise of the issue being forwarded to more capable support. It's not hard to lose hope..
