So after what more than 10 days I am finally playing the game, FINALLY! I did a bunch of steps from what we have seen previously in this thread.
1: Uninstalled Origin, didn't work because it couldn't be installed for some reason. Then downloaded origin with Internet explorer and installed it in safe mode with networking (apparently an error can occur using another internet browser, so that the fiel cannot be downloaded fully). Finally worked after having spent hours attempting to install the client.
2. UAC settings on lowest possible
3. Disabled all softwares using Run dialog+msconfig so that none of those "useless" softwares was running in the background
4. Disabled firewall and antivirus software once again to be sure.
5. Downloaded the damn game in safe mode with networking for about 1 and a half days.
6. Attempted to install it with safe mode with networking, did not work because one of the visual ++ packages wouldn't work (duh).
7: Installed the damn game normally (normal mode), still having all of the softwares disabled.
I don't know if this had anything to do with the new update or not, but since the new update didn't seem to be working without having to re-install the whole client agian I do not know. But I am now able to play the game after having used all of the given "solutions" together. It took a long time to do all this of course but ultimately it is worth it. I do hope it works for you guys!
I am playing the game after countless sleepless nights checking whether the download regressed or not. I have tried almost all solutions here but they did not work for me.
The only option left (in case you tried all the options) is to let the game keep downloading and keep checking for regression. IT WILL REGRESS quite frequently but you have to be just at it and look forward to see the download materialize. Better option would be to purchase the DVD version of the gameif you are getting too frustrated with the download.

EA should be sending us that are affected by the issue the DVDs for FREE especially those of us that have pre-ordered the game through the Origin store.
I have been almost constantly trying to download this game and some DLC for another game for 17 days straight now. I have even gone to the effort of installing Origin on a fresh clean base install of Windows 7 to no avail. This sporadic regression issue is to the point of being totally unacceptable and I am getting close to boycotting any future EA title regardless of whether it uses Origin or not.
Origin should be downloading material in a reasonable time frame given the end-user's download bandwidth is sufficient - under 8 hours is a reasonable expectation (for DA:I) given at least 10Mb download bandwidth (I have a 50Mb service but getting a nominal 1MB/s download speed when I should really be getting 4-5MB/s download speed - possibly due to ISP throttling for excessive bandwidth usage). On that basis I have probably used enough bandwidth to have downloaded the title over 50 times (something like >1TB of bandwidth usage effectively wasted in less than a month).
