PS3 - Dragon Age: Origins - constantly freezing and locking PS3

Question

I originally purchased Dragon Age Origins when it came out. I had the DLC for the Dragon Armour and the Stone Prisoner.

I got pretty far in the game and now (a few years later) thought I'd continue and play on.

Now Dragon Age has lots of video "issues"... polygons distorting noses and flashes all over the screen. 5 minutes into game play, the PS3 freezes. No buttons respond including holding the PS button. I have to turn the off button. This usually results in the "PS was not shutdown properly" message. This is really frustrating. I've removed the Game Data, reinstalled, got the latest patches. Re-downloaded the DLC (As my save games won't work without them). Still no good.

I've read that this was introduced by a firmware update to the PS3 and that maybe it was fixed by installing a later add-on. But I don't have any other add-ons or expansion packs. Any other suggestions? (I also just missed the free give-away of Origins for the PC version... saw that on the 14th.)

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

I'm frustrated to the point I just won't play it anymore.

Hmm, considering you reinstalled that sounds like more of a PS3 related issue than the game.Before that, if you restart the game do you see the same glitches, in case it's a weird corrupted save?

Thanks for the suggestion.No, it's the game - or at least the way the game interacts with the PS3 drivers?. &nbsp;It was fine when I first got Dragon Age. &nbsp;What you suggested I have tried - a new game... I get the weird polygon stuff even when creating my character... but the freezing happens in game play... usually when loading a new screen or during a fight. &nbsp;Sometimes I can go 15 minutes, sometimes 5. &nbsp;At this point, it's just frustrating as the load time feels longer than the amount I play.Any other suggestions?
