I have found it quite ridiculous that I cannot push an AI controlled party member over a ledge or into water, but they can push my controlled character into these "bad" situations.
I can manage to get stuck in so many places it'll make you wonder. For instance; there is a ledge near the windows in the Elven Keep in Empress Du Lion just before you confront Imshael. I was looking down to see if there was any loot there and got knocked into that little hole and could not get out. There are many little crannies in the Frostback Basin where you can step off a ledge (or get pushed off by an AI controlled party member) and get stuck on a root next to the ledge and cannot get back out. No matter where this happens, there are two options to alleviate the situation.
Option 1 - Fast Travel to the nearest camp if possible.
Option 2 (and the better option) - SWITCH CHARACTERS and walk away until the rest of your party joins you - then just switch back to your preferred character!
I honestly don't understand how a literally stuck character can miraculously find their way out when under AI control, but it works!
If your entire party is stuck behind that door and Fast Travel is not an option (which it probably isn't) your only option is to load your latest saved game point and leave that door alone if at all possible.
BTW - Option 2 works perfectly for getting your entire party into the tomb (behind the locked entrance door) in the Exalted Plains when collecting the Ring Of Doubt from the skeleton without violating any graves to get the key.
Simply ride your Hart to the left edge of the door then turn to the right and continue walking the hart after it can walk no farther. this will cause the rear end to swing slowly closer to the door. When it can get no closer, dismount and step out of the door on the other side (INSIDE THE TOMB). If you are greeted by enemy, simply run to the center of the tomb and your party will miraculously come through the locked entrance door to assist you!
