One thing that might help is to fully shut down the console for about 10 seconds, then check again once it restarts.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to test right now, but I'll shut down my PS4 (I assume leaving it plugged in is alright, so long as I choose shutdown instead of standby; please correct me if I'm wrong) before heading out. That way, it'll get a few hours instead of just a few seconds of downtime.
As soon as I get a chance to try it out afterward, I'll update with whether I've noticed any difference.
Just as an aside, though, the PS4 has actually been shut down and restarted before between the issues I noticed, though not with any particular regard for how long. The restart was actually on account of my system randomly losing network connection and refusing to reconnect to bioware servers after the connection returned; not sure if that's relevant, since it came after these issues began and the restart fixed connectivity to bioware servers.
