At least that's what I did.
and I enjoyed.
- Anonymous11 years agoGuys, there's a much simpler solution, and I'm pretty amazed that EA customer support has been giving the advice they have. I had the same issue, and tried every proposed solution here, with no success. I finally thought that maybe when you install the game, it immediately loads up enough content to get you started on a new character, but continues the remainder of the install in the background, which would explain the inability to load up a saved state from deep into the game, and the multiplayer component. Sure enough, I installed the game and left it sitting on the Dragon Age title screen for a couple of hours while I did other things. I came back, closed out of Dragon Age, and then started it up again. All saved games now load just fine, and Multiplayer us no longer greyed out. I hope this works for some others. I was very frustrated.

I have tried all of these, and it has been sitting on the title screen for DA: Inquisition for roughly 3 days
- Anonymous11 years agoOk guys, this is the test to see if you're fully installed.
Turn on ps4
Highlight Dragon Age (do not start it)
Hit the options button
Select information
Look for "download status" 45.483 GB
If your there is a number to the left that is lower than 45 gb, and either growing (downloading) or staying at the same number....
THEN YOUR GAME IS NOT DONE INSTALLING. This means multiplayer and game saves from another install will not load. Wait until you have finished downloading (if you bought from the ps store, this may take hours/days depending on how slow you're internet connection is) before giving up hope.
If you are having this problem and can see it is fully downloaded and installed... delete, try again. Make sure your saves are on a usb or backed up online.

This is all well and good, but unfortunately this doesn't fly when the game has been sitting on my HDD for weeks. However, I did replace my HDD, and have not played since that new installation.
Reinstalling the entire game only really made things worse as it no longer recognises any gamesave to 'Continue'. Attempting to Load a gamesave still returns that damned message though.
The only thing I have not done is to 'Wait a couple of days', which solved the issue for another user with this problem. Apparently, the DA-I servers 're-recognised' the save - or something. I am in the process of waiting a couple of days.
Has EA responded to this game-breaking issue in any helpful way, or have the buckets of sand been distributed to stick their heads in?

Right. I have not so much as solved the problem, but just worked around it.
Luckily, I had some gamesaves archived on my PC, as a backup, one of which was a file from a while BEFORE I replaced my HDD.
I copied this across and lo and behold, DA-I at last decided to acknowledge my gamesave! All of my 103 hours of gameplay completely intact.
I then performed a manual save, just in case, and all seems good, thanks in NO part to EA and Bioware - or Sony, I really don't know where the blame lies, but it certainly wasn't me, as I'm never wrong.
However, this still doesn't explain why it ignored both the USB and PS Plus saves, which were exact clones of the file that I retrieved from my PC, exactly the same playtime down to the second. Ahh well.
