Publishing books / Literature for Games of EA (and others)?
Hi,
seeing books based on games is nothing new these days, but one thing that still eludes me to this day is just where or how one can participate in such field? It is common for mortals to learn everything about passion of gaming and how to create such, but I've yet to learn where or how one could engage/pitch EA with book ideas. After all, there seems to be a source since we do see books of various games on the shelves at stores.
"Getting in contact with the company" is an obvious answer, but there is a lot more to it in this particular "writing" subject as it is not a classic such as "3d Artist, programmer, etc". For instance, would one require an agent?
Also, in terms of books alongside EA and other companies out there, I can see books being churned out like a machine gun but simply cannot figure just how one gets going with such. It is interesting field next to the rather silent "Game Writer" profession.
I am sure others have stumbled upon this "writing for game companies" subject.
The question(s) is above, but wanted to chat about the subject in general. In my opinion, a game can feature whatsoever, but there is a LOT of fun to be had with good ol' reading. There is of course fanfiction, but what happens when you want to go a step further?
Hope the subject is a worthy topic. Do please participate!
