My issue: something happened where there was a glitch after I destroyed the circle but before I got to attack the beastie. I wound up with a beast that could inflict ALL the damage but take none. I tried going back to a prior save, etc to no avail.
What worked for me: I let everyone get killed by the beast. This brings up that screen where the "journey has ended, do you want to continue". I said yes. There was some craziness with the next few screens BUT it let me finish the quest.

I let the whole party die to the demon. After everyone was dead I`ve chosen to continue the game and the cutscene appeared as "crw1013" posted 11/2/2015.
