Quest: Burdens of Command bug

I talked to the spirit to get the quest so I could do it alongside Still Waters. While in the flooded caves, one of my companions nudged me off the side of the stairs when I wasn't moving aaaand I landed pretty much just outside the rift. Usually I kill the rage demon first because it's on the way, but since I was there I was like well, might as well just close the rift. So I did.
Once it's closed I start making my way back and there is no rage demon to be seen. The quest marker is there, I can stand right on top of it. But no rage demon nowhere. I've tried reloading my save, exiting and coming back, leaving Crestwood and coming back, and closing the whole game and coming back. Nothing. My last save before closing the rift is way back when in Haven.

I /was/ going for a completionist run. I take it there's no way to reset a quest or anything of the sort. Should I assume I'm screwed?
