Re: [AVG/Avast] Inquisition won't open on PC (Re-occurring after Origin update)
Help! Have a brand new laptop with Windows 10. Installed Steam and Origin in it. No problem with Steam games, but I can't open my brand new copy of Dragon Age Inquisition: Game of the Year. A black window pops up, it then tries to go into fullscreen mode and promptly closes. No error message.
I have:
1-) Erased the Patch file contents.
2-) Repaired the game files.
3-) Upgraded my NVIDIA game ready driver to the latest version (378.49)
4-) Done a Clean Boot. 5-) Updated .NET framework and VC.
6-) Tried opening it in windowed mode with a lower resolution by typing in the Origin command line option: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\DragonAgeInquisition.exe" -w -r:1024x768 (Since I can't launch the game, I can't fiddle around with resolution and windowed mode "normally")
7-) Made sure that the "high powered NVIDIA processor" is selected via the NVIDIA control panel.
😎 Disabled In-Game Origin.
This is my hastebin with system info and so forth: https://hastebin.com/vinoboseqa.tex
It's not AVG, I have Avast.
Please help. I'm at my wits end. I had a similar "fail to launch" issue, years ago with ME:3 on an older machine (Which I never could solve). I don't understand why I keep getting this problem with Origin. ; (
