EA access is a game rental agreement like Netflix is for movies, but if you buy the game it doesn't matter if you also rent it or not. The only reason you should need online access is for initial game authorization like any other on xbox game, updates and online play. So you should have no issues playing the game if you bought it.

Hi, thank you for helping out and taking the time to answer.
I've just recently fallen totally in love with Dragon Age Inq., playing on XBox One. I noticed that you need Gold membership to play the multiplayer option, but i only ever play in single player mode.
I ALSO just right now cancelled my XBox Gold membership, and because I am a big fan of worrying excessively about everything, I suddenly was worried that I'd no longer be able to play Dragon Age (even in single player mode) without Gold.
An XBox ambassador advised that it should be fine as long as i have internet. So I'm happy. Just wanted to thank you for your answer on this subject as well. - annakate
