That would be ideal, but highly unlikely since the game is 5 years old, I doubt EA would invest resources in converting Golden Nug and Keep for offline use.

I'm with you on this, it could be better. But I doubt they are going to change anything. They wouldn't even bother with the DAO server connection problems, I don't think they will do something.
I'm glad the issue is being taken care of. I would more than gladly use the website more than once because I have had that error past week or so after using it for the first time.
Must keep my eyes on this forum post for updates on that. 🙂
Tbh I just think that once it will be online again, I will simply write somewhere my decisions nd endings in the tapestry... for the achievements and collectibles instead idk, mb I'll just hope they wont be lost in ages...

Maybe at least make it do that for DA4? Make it so you can save your information from the Keep offline for that?

For what I see, games companies are more and more interested in fan-servicing than ever before, making contents that reach most of potential customers, not always with success.

I was more responding to the comment regarding whether they'd invest in changing the way it works in a 5 year old game (I don't actually know if it would be cheaper to make it so that the stuff in Keep works offline inside the game, but it was just a thought). I love these games.

I'm about to beat Dragon Age II and wanted to start Inquisition for the first time in a couple months. If I started a new Inquisition save as soon as the Keep is back and imported my world state, would that protect me from future server outages? If so, I'll just start the game ASAP and finish it later. I really don't want to lose two games worth of choices over a server outage...
So the updated answer is not an answer? That makes no sense from a visibility standpoint since new threads for the same issues happen regularly. I'd truly love an eta. Working on it for 5 days now and no information about the cause or even an eta is not okay. The official twitter account is silent.
If they plan to just do away with them then they at least should tell us. Not saying more information than was already said isn't helpful, and I feel bad for the customer service people who have to deal with the complaints. It isn't fair to them or to the players. If the bonuses for the higher ups was tied to server health you can bet this issue would have been fixed on Thursday.

Nope. I tried creating a new character in the outage and without a server connection you have to use the default world state. I could live without syncing collections with the Golden Nug, but I refuse to start a game without the world history I spent lord knows who long creating.

The Dragon Age servers impact New Character Creation (linking to the Keep for worldstate changes), New Game+ (via the Golden Nug syncing all recipes), Multiplayer, and Achievements. So, if you wait until the servers come back up, modify the worldstate in Keep how you want, and then create a character using that worldstate right away then you should be fine.
BE AWARE, though, that the servers were down for multiple days end of Feb into March, so around 3 months ago. And the servers have, historically, gone down ~5 times per year.
So, theoretically, dragonagekeep.com is still around...? It's just dead more often than it's alive? I was starting to assume it had been discontinued.
Weeeell... guess I'll just go play something else & check on this issue every once in awhile. You'd think fixing this would be more of a priority. When players stop playing, it kinda hurts future sales.

This issue makes me feel conflicted about DA4. On the one hand, since they plan to continue the series that means that hopefully they'll invest more in keeping this stuff running. On the other hand, they plan on continuing the series but this is still happening.
So is it solved? I have not been able to connect to Dragon Age servers in months. Dragon age keep keeps giving me the "oops an error occured"message. And my XBOX one just keeps telling me that the dragon age servers are temporarily down. (been down for months as far as I can tell)
Are the server gone? I finally completed origins again so I could buy and replay DragonAge 2 again with the world I created in Dragon Age origins.
Not solved here (hopefully yet).
Yeah I'm having the exact same issue. I hope it gets fixed soon!
