Re: Game crashing- what worked for me

How do you disable connecting to their servers? I already tried disabling origin with nosucess hoping this works.

  • The order of things I did to keep the game from freezing (crashing): (preliminary check: make sure you have a quad core processor, anything less and that is most likely your problem, it's in the game requirements to have a quad core processor at minimum).

    1. Start the origin software prior to running the game. Must do this part EVERYTIME you restart the origin software: click on origin at the top and select 'go offline.'

2.(Only need to do this step once) two ways to diable origin in game, the way I did it was to disable it completly for all games by: open the origin software, click on origin at the top, in the drop down menu select 'application settings,' then click on the 'origin in game' tab and uncheck the box to turn it off. (alternative way is to go to the 'my games' tab and right click on inquisiton and select the properties option.) ALSO, In the General tab of this menu turned OFF (unchecked): a. auto keep games up to date, b. enable cloud storage. I also turned off in the Advanced tab 'origin helper.'

    3. Must do this part everytime you play: After the game starts do not log in with you user information (email & password).

    4. (Only need to do this part once) In game, go to the options menu, in the advanced tab I turned off (unchecked) share usage data, as well as turned off upload information to the keep.

    5. When creating you character DO NOT load your information from the keep (a lot of people have reported various other bugs related to this as well).

I basically went out of my way to keep the game from talking to bioware servers by taking these steps and the game has played flawless for me since.

Didn't work for me, disabled all contanct with origins and still randomly crashes to desktop. I have a quad core and the latest drivers for my AMD 6870, still crashes randomly atleast once every 30 mins.

These 2 worked for me. I was unable to travel to Haven without a crash but disconnecting entirely from Origin did the job.
