@Ruthgaelle;  To answer your question, subtitles are activated through:

Main Menu ==> Options ==> Game Tab

On the right-hand side under "Feedback" there are three choices for the Subtitles dropdown: "No subtitles", "Conversations only", or "Conversations and ambient dialogue".  I presume you would want the last one.

[EDIT]  My question is: Why don't you have any sound?!?
