Re: I can't talk to anyone after the main quest.

Unfortunately, after finishing the main quest, your companions will speak to you once (generally a comment about whoever became Divine), and then will just give you a generic greeting. Unsure if you still get banter while out and about exploring (as I do everything I want to do before finishing the game, since it's rather boring when nobody will speak to you).
This is why they made Trespasser for us. If you can't afford it right now, there's always the other option of starting a new playthrough, with a different world state, making different choices, with a different character (and bringing different combinations of followers along, to see what they says to each other). 😉 I've lost count of how many playthroughs I've got, and I'm still finding new stuff.

So Trespasser does grant us the ability to talk to them again. At least I have that. I'm still a little frustrated, but not as much as I was earlier. Starting to regret finishing the game, but at least I know. That's frustrating because it was an actual dilemma for me.
