Re: I might have found a workaround on memory leak problem (aka CPU 100% usage)

What problem exactly are you facing? I mean like crashes, freezes, black screen, shuttering or others?

Yes, me and many others also noticed the spike of memory usage and have no clue what is the causing it. I, in particular, are facing with crask to desktop (CTD) with no error message.

I'll try this method when I get home. See if it can fix CTD as well.

Thanks for sharing.

Sorry for being vague, man this site is so hard to login. I couldn't edit it in time.

So my problem was similar to what everyone is facing. Prior to the patch my game was running fine. After patch 2 hit, the game stuttered heavily. I checked the task manager and found that my CPU was running at 100% which is unsual. And as you may know a capped cpu usage leads to stuttering gameplay, FPS drop, poor performance and potential freezes etc. And since I didn't make any changes to my computer so it must be the patch. (Only DAI was running when cpu hits 100% mark). Also the memory usage of the app process kept increasing so I thought it was a memory leak problem.

So I did some research and found this workaround for BF4. Just thinking since it's memory leak problem it should also apply here and it did, at least for me.

yeah. please recheck to see if it really works.

Just to be clear, it's to deal with memory leak that causes 100% cpu usage which leads to stuttering, fps drop and all that.

Funny thing is, once I did this, the game seems to be running much smoother than even before the patch. I also recall that from time to time, prior to the patch, I would often see like a "duplicate" of the game running in the background of the game itself. Say, I was exploring a map, but when I hit Alt+tab and the game window came down, I would see a wartable operation still running. I think this game has a very bad memeory efficiency and the patch just blew it to the top.
