Sorry I wasn't clear enough in my first post.
If you have ever launched DAI with origin and allowed it to verify that you own it, you can then play it anytime you want as long as Origin is in offline mode.
If you can get internet access for just a few minutes(phone tether, working home system, piggy back off a neighbor, taking computer to a friends house) and log into Origin, you can then turn around and put it into offline mode where it will stay until you change it.
So if you can ever get Origin online long enough to set it to offline, then you are free to play as long as you want, and shutting down comp shouldn't make a difference.

It's perfectly possible to log into Origin while completely disconnected from the internet since your login and password are stored locally in the registry. Dragon Age Inquisition DLC may require a one-time online activation, but after that you should be good.
In short:
Do you need to log into Origin? - >Yes
Can you do so without internet? -> Yes
Cool Beans...they changed it sometime in past without me finding out. Origin used to require you to have internet and then set to offline, now it just starts you in offline if you don't have connection. So Fred is right, just fire up Origin and play, as long as you have DL'ed the game already...
and yeah, I checked...lol
