Re: Quest Bug in "All New, Faded for Her"

I tried a few things but no luck yet.

Tried killing everything nearby - wolves, halla's ,etc.. didn't work.  Tried approaching from several different angles.  Tried visiting all of the nearby corpses, then approaching and that didn't work.

Another thing is that my party members do weird things near the demon.

Sometimes party members just wander off.  Sometimes they stand still while everyone else is walking off.  It only happens near the demon.

I tried loading a new game near one of the corpses.

It occasionally mentions a mage being killed and Varric sais "bandits by the look of it".  Sometimes they say this 3 or 4 times in a row at random times near the demon but nothing triggers.

@ammobake What system are you on? Has anything changed since the playthrough where you successfully did this quest?

So... Still no anwers about this glitch ? It's driving me mad.
The first time I saw the pride demon before the corpses. And because it didn't trigger anything, I just decided to continue. And basically forgot about it. Now here I am, 100 hours in the game and so not reloading an old save ! =( It unnerves me because my inquisitor and Solas were buddies and  I cannot interact with him anymore.

@Neferkitty813 If your game is fully updated, it is not necessary to see the corpses or anything before the demon will appear, you can just walk straight up to it from the other side and the cutscene should trigger (unsure if the patch that fixed this is available on previous gen consoles, so if you're playing on one of those, you still might need to come around the long way and notice the corpses for the quest to work).

If you get close enough to the demon (with Solas in your party) a cutscene should trigger, if this doesn't happen there's something wrong with your game, hopefully you saved before approaching (always a good idea with this game to create manual saves before approaching quest areas, in case something like this happens). If you trigger the cutscene and leave, you're likely to break the quest for that playthrough. If you approach and the thing that's supposed to happen doesn't happen, going away and playing the rest of the game isn't going to fix it.

If you have a bug (anywhere in the game, including this quest), don't ignore it and leave it for later, generally that means you'll either have to undo everything you've done since the point of the bug (i.e. load a previous save) or you're going to have to skip that quest. Unfortunately, once the quest is broken, it will most likely stay broken in that playthrough unless you load a previous save.

Sorry I don't have better news for you. Hopefully this will help you to avoid similar issues in the future, though.

Well considering I bought DAI 2 months ago on Origin, I guess I'm playing with the last version . The scene didn't trigger though. I skipped the quest thinking that  I was maybe missing something, actually. I did not think for one second it could be a glitch. I should have =/
I lost so much hours by reloading one of my many saves of the exalted plains... *grumbles* And it only worked when I came from the North and checked all the dead bodies. Well... next time, I'll be more careful.

@Neferkitty813 If your game is especially prone to bugs (some systems just don't seem to get along well with this game, especially if the GPU can't handle your game settings well), it might be safer to do the quest the 'proper' way and approach the demon from the direction with the bodies. I just really hate the Exalted Plains, so I teleport to the Dalish camp and go to the demon from there, just a short stroll up the river, completely bypassing the bodies (I did go that way on one playthrough, the first time I did that quest, which was probably back when it was necessary to do so). However, I've been lucky enough to avoid pretty much all bugs except those I've created by using mods (I like pretty hair, and I hate shiny people 😛 ).

Good rule of thumb with this game... if it seems odd or unusual or annoying at all, it's probably a glitch. 😛 And if you trigger something quest related, don't go away before doing whatever it is, or it may be broken for the rest of the playthrough. And save constantly (and before every quest trigger, if you know it's coming). Going back 10 minutes is preferable to going back 10 hours. 😉
