Re: Question
You can import your DAO saves into DA2, but Inquisition will have a new system called the Dragon Age Keep. It's a web based tool that allows you to pick story choices. Compare it to the interactive comic books in the Mass Effect games, except much more detailed, and covering many more variables. BioWare is considering an option to upload save files directly into the Keep, so you can then transfer your decisions to the new game, regardless of which platform you're playing it on. All saves in the Keep are compatible with any version of the game, whether you're playing on PC, PS4, or any other platform.
For lore you could read some pages on http://dragonage.wikia.com
In Dragon Age II there are no origin stories like in the first. You play a human who has fled Ferelden during the blight and who now has to support his/her family in the city state Kirkwall. You then get mixed up in politics about the mage - templar conflict, and have to deal with some annoying qunari who just won't leave.
Dragon Age: Inquisition allows you to play as a human, elf, dwarf, or qunari (who doesn't follow the Qun philosophy). As far as I know, there are no origin stories either.
In all three games, you can choose to be rogue, mage or warrior.
