I fixed the issue by disabling the 60 FPS cinematic unlock fix. So for people who use the 60 FPS cinematic unlocker and can't get past the opening cutscene world, disable it again and you should be able to play.

Have this problem. Not due to fps (I had to go look up what you meant by disabling the 60fps fix). Uninstalled and reinstalled and still stuck in world. Did not apply any "fixes" to the game.
I deleted the folder in my documents but still stuck in world after character creation. It worked once with one default character, then failed to work with all subsequent custom or default characters (I delete the folder each time I do so).
