Unbowed increases guard based on how many enemies around. I mainly used it when warcry was on cooldown and my guard was about to break
You focus on your defensive training, gaining guard for each nearby enemy.
Unbowed can be enhanced with Still Standing, doubling your Guard generation.
im saying the skill DOES NOT WORK! and instead of helping you are giving me a description of the skill and when u use it....
On the Xbox One it seems to work most of the time, much of the problem I've had with it is remembering the range it has since it's only has about a 5ft range(guesstimating) and anything past that usually doesn't pick up, also "this skill is supposed to genereate threat based on the number of enemies around you right?"
If you mention which platform you're using then someone who knows or has the same problem might've been able to help a bit better.

anyways it appears it IS in fact working. but has low range and gives little guard hen not upgraded.

Hey there I'm having this problem too. I just switched builds to include Unbowed to get some extra guard but whenever I use it I never get any guard no matter how many enemies are nearby. Even with the Still Standing upgrade nothing happens. Anyone else experiencing this?

Got it to fixed. I paid for the amulet to reset skills then moved the ability to a different keybiniding and it started to work.
If I'm controlling a tank follower like Bull for instance, I'll first use Warcry to pull aggro on a nearby mob, who will promptly cluster around and attack him ...once they're in point blank melee range like that {not just merely 'nearby' which is vague to the point of uselessness}, I'll either let fly with an AOE attack (preferrably a combo initiator or a combo detonator if they're already under an effect), or if they've whittled down my guard I'll let fly with Unbowed to prompty rebuild it.
It seems to work fine on the PS4.
