Redcliffe Village crashes game (PC)

Every time I'm attempting to enter Redcliffe Village, my game crashes, no error message is given. So far I've explored the Hinterlands, the Storm Coast , the Hidden Oasis and Val Royeaux, and haven't had this issue, or any other issues anywhere other than the Village... Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

So this happened to me when using 3 monitors and Nvidia Surround (quite nice aother than the crash) but as soon as I switched back to single individual monitors as opposed to surround, the issue seems to have resolved itself, and I can now enter Redcliffe Village...

Nope it is randomly in any area around redcliff be it redcliffe road or trail. what is weird is I beat the game twice with no problems and I just started a playthrough of a human mage and now I get this crash and it made this character unplayable.*edit* I should note that in other playthroughs I went to redcliffe with no problem and Im on PC as well.

  • I would suggest you try the repair function in the origins application, and see if you have a corrupted file there.  That is most likely the issue, since it only happens in that area, and it is a recent occurance.  You may try one of your older saves and see if they crast too, or if it localised to your new play.

yup that solution worked for me, I just repaired the game loaded up the same save and everything worked with no issue again. thanks.

  • I know this is a really old thread but wanted to provide confirmation for 2021.   Playing on an ultrawide screen monitor at 3840 x 1080 I was also crashing, only in Redcliffe.    While traversing the town, I reduced the screen to 1920x1080 windowed mode, and it stops crashing.   Once I was finished with the town you can switch back to the high resolution and play as normal.

I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

If you have any issues with Dragon Age: Inquisition, please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
