So this game can't run at all on a dual core processor?

This is my current set up:

Intel Core i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.4GHz
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M

Please don't give me any get a real computer remarks, I just want to know before I open the game so I can get a refund or exchange if need be.

  • The Intel Core i7-3630QM is a fast quad-core processor for laptops based on the Ivy Bridge architecture and successor of the i7-3630QM. Due to Hyperthreading, the four cores can handle up to eight threads in parallel leading to better utilization of the CPU. Each core offers a base speed of 2.4 GHz but can dynamically increase clock rates with Turbo Boost up to 3.2 GHz (for 4 active cores), 3.3 GHz (for 2 active cores) and 3.4 GHz (for 1 active core).

  • I didn't even know I had a quad core haha. I'm technologically challenged when it comes to hardware. Thanks for the answers.

  • if anyone tries to say you can't run on dual core is 100% wrong. I have been running this game on high settings w/ dual core i-3 3220 / 6gb ram / r9-270x . Temps stay around 68-70.

I don't think it's so much it can't run, but it isn't supported to run. With your case you have a much higher end dual core as well so the speeds probably help push through the load being placed on it.

Definitely awesome to hear someone is running it with a dualcore though.

  • @Terroriza99: It runs fine on dual cores with hyperthreading to imitate four cores, which is what you have.  Dual and triple cores without hyperthreading - which includes all AMD dual/triple cores, some Intel dual cores - can't even start the game up.
