[Steam] Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition Not Launching

Like some other posts on here I bought DAO Ultimate on Steam and was hyped to play again. I have not had success with getting past the initial config screen as it times out and the DxDiag doesn't ...

@FireKali Thank you for adding that file. So, taking a look this is what I found so far.

Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.

This should be done with the following steps

Select Start, and type CMD.

Right-click Command Prompt; then, choose Run as administrator.

If prompted, enter a username and password that grants admin rights to the computer.

Type sc config trustedinstaller start= auto; then, press Enter. You should get a SUCCESS message.

Next, type net start trustedinstaller; then, press Enter. You should receive a message that the service was started.

Try the sfc /scannow command again.

The error reports you've posted indicate that the application "DAOriginsConfig.exe" is crashing repeatedly. The error code "c0000094"

Check for Windows and

Check for GPU updates

Steam - Verify in your library

Delete Windows Temp Files

First, make sure you close as many programs as you can

Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer

Type in %temp%, and hit Enter

Delete everything it allows you to delete

Reboot the PC

Optional Registry clean-up

install CCleaner (it's free) from here

Run Registry cleaner

Click review selected issues

Do you want to back up? No

Click Fix all selected issues

Right click the Game cover in your Steam Library > Properties.
In the "Launch options" tab, at the bottom (below "Advanced user may....") copy and paste the following line into the empty field:
-CPUCount:1 -CPUPriority:high
Test.

If that don't works:

Hit Windows key and X.
Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” or "Windows Terminal (Administrator)", whichever option is offered.
Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
If errors are found, notify us. If no errors were found reaped steps 1 & 2.
Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here.
After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key and X again.
Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command Prompt (Administrator)”
Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “sfc /scannow” without quotes. >ENTER.
Post the message you receive at the end of the processes here.

First idea didn't work, so I ran through the second.

It's been ages since I used commands in MSDOS, but I ran this second process on both my C: drive and D: drive, just in case. My game files are installed on D:

Message from c:

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag."

Message from D:

"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

Tried running the game after that, and retried that first suggestion.

It did not resolve the issue.

  Not really. No.
  I gave up and am waiting for the game to be updated to work better on Windows 11. My best guess is that it just isn't supported.
  I ended up having a lot of stuff happen in my personal life so I never followed up. I'd still love to play this game again.

    @Havrshyk I understand all of that for sure. Honestly at this point no. There won't be any more updates to the game itself unless something major happens that requires them to make changes that affect a lot of players at one time.
    
    If you still want to play and try further steps on this one let us know. Be more than happy to try to get you back into the game.
