Still getting "Download Failed" for DLC
The server fixes don't seem to have solved my problem, and I have gone through all the recommendations. Flushed my DNS, restarted, did complete uninstall, and reinstall exactly as that thread from the Bioware forums suggested. After applying the 1.05, I finally booted up the game and logged in, with Awakening as the only installed content. I have no mods, and have done no manual installs of the DLC. There is nothing showing up in the Available content tab, and all of my owned DLC is in the Downloading tab, either as Ready or Download Failed.
When installing DA: O from my disc, I did get an error about Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2, and it said this product is not supported on X64 operating system. I have a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit system, and when it currently has .NET Framework 3.53 I believe.
I was able to get Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar, Witch Hunt, and even the Edge dagger DLC to work from a manual install, and would have been fine with the Stone Prisoner manual install if it had worked properly. For my new character I was finding the Shale specific items in the game, but the encounter that gives you the controlling rod wouldn't trigger, so I couldn't find Shale at all. I did not check old saves to see if Shale was present or not.
I have gone through all of the possibly relevant fixes from this thread http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/81613 without success.
To help fix that in the manual installs I had to do as well, I downloaded the offer files I was missing from this site: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Downloadable_content_%28Origins%29 and then used the updater found in the game's install folder, bin_ship folder, daupdater, point that at the dazip files that you downloaded and it works. It still tries to install the dlc though the in game downloader at startup though, all still listed as download failed, but in game it works fine so far.
