Struggling with this game it just seems so confusing
Think I played for an hour and then got confused and mad so I turned it off but I really want to play this game I'm currently playing greed fall and really enjoying it any advice

I would start with a sword and shield warrior with the intention of probably restarting after 8-10 hour range. Play slow, read everything, talk to all NPCs you can, read the hints and tutorials, and try to have fun.
If you haven't played any other Dragon Age game, the lore will be confusing a bit, but the gameplay has changed over the games, so gameplay wise it mostly doesn't matter if you have played the others. This is a big game, expect to take 70+ hours on a run if you do everything, so restarting after 10 isn't a huge deal....so play a bit, figure out the game, how characters work, and maybe watch some videos afterward to get more ideas, then restart with your preferred class and better knowledge....

Community Manager@gulax99 Hey, we totally understand that this one can be confusing for sure. When it was released we had a lot of players including myself not leave the Hinterlands for hours. To that though @mcsupersport pretty much nailed it.
Here is my take on this one. If you have never played this one before, don't let all the things overwhelm you. It starts off pretty slow so you can get used to the controls and combat system. Pick a class you really enjoy, but don't necessarily think you will stick with. I tried them all. I love the rogue classes but had a lot of fun with mages and archers.
Pay close attention to the map and the enemies. Most of us love to just run out the door and go to every icon, every building, every enemy. You won't need to because you will, by normal progression do it anyways. The community forums are your best friends. I personally lived off the DAI Wikis. One of my personal favorites is this one. However, as we do not create these guides, the best thing to do here is just to create a thread with the issue or quest issue in the heading and explain your answer. We have a lot of amazing Heros and Champions who love this game that can help you out with just about anything.
I myself spent a good 900 hours playing and I love it. I recently started a new playthrough just to test out a new class I had never played.
You will get frustrated. You will want to quit but you cannot. There are a thousand resources and a wonderful AHQ community that has your back.
