Tan Pants / Boots clothing texture glitch

So I have been having this weird glitch where my pants and boots turn tan and lose their texture.

It was only the Inquisitor, but last night my ENTIRE party had light tan pants with no texture.

It even stayed during cutscenes.

My friend is having this issue too, has anyone heard  Bioware acknowledge this?

Hey everyone... I see this issue still persists.

I fear they do not care about it.

I stopped playing the game because it made my character so ugly (and other reasons like general busyness)

If anyone tries patch 7 let us know if this is still an issue.

As of patch 7, this still occurs. I did happen to notice (on my mage) that the change makes it look as though she's wearing her unarmored leggings. I'd say it looks identical, even. Amusingly enough, boots equipped as leg armor are subject to a color change as well.

Given the way the gore effect is implemented and the general fidelity of the game's graphics, I don't think it's an intended "dirt effect." I feel that it might be an unintended superimposition of the gamma/colors of the character's pajamas onto whatever he or she is wearing. To support that, I think some other people in this thread said that using white clothing does not encounter this issue; maybe that's because the white mesh/texture/whatever can't be lightened any further.

I really do hope that this is addressed in some way soon, though. The armor in this game is very fun to see and it's a bit of a heart-breaker to see such rich colors suddenly interrupted by a dull tan.

  • Here is why the pants are turning Tan. Note, I'm on PC, but even at Skyhold my outfit would get 'tanned' for no reason. (I played with mods my 2nd/3rd time around) This is because of a little thing called Dirt Buildup. This is a feature in the game where depending on where you walk, dirt will build up on your armor/clothing like it would in the real world. Sadly, for those on Xbox/PS4, you cannot use the mod that disables this, but the 'glitch' is but a feature in the game, from 3 play-throughs of experience, that can be annoying. Your game isn't broken, 'tis only an annoyance that Bioware has placed in the game.

Again, I'm a PC player, but as far as I know, this is NOT a glitch! Take this with a small grain of salt.
