It helps to state how far you are from your TV as well. If you have a 35 in. TV and you're sitting 10 feet away I can see the text being unreadable (If you're that far from your entertainment center your screen should be a fair bit bigger). Wife and I are on a 55 in. Samsung LED TV with a PS3 and from ~12ish feet away the text is small but perfectly readable.
I play on PC (monitor 19 inch, 1280x1024). And I have difficulty reading Russian subtitles, especially dialogues in the game. ☹️
