The Descent DLC Won't Load

I'm ripping my hair out trying to figure this out.

I go to the war table, I click the blue place marker thing, and click venture forth. This is my first time playing (or trying to) the DLC.

I pick my party, the tarot card loading screen loads, then it goes black with the Inquisition loading icon and freezes indefinitely. I've left it on for over 20 minutes and it just hangs.

I -had- 1 hair mod and 1 hair retexture mod installed. I removed them, even though I've seen screenshots of people in the Deep Roads with the hair mod installed.

I tried repairing the game, running as administrator, checking for updates.

HOW do I get this DLC to actually run!?!

I am on PC.
