Oh, platform, hardware, operating system, driver version, Graphics options... you know, the usual when reporting a problem with a piece of software.
We can assume that you are using the PC version because you mention alt-tabbing. That's a start.
You see the thing is, I've ALSO paid money for this game, and while I've run into some similar problems as you, I've found the settings and work-arounds that render the game fully functional.
Could you Share those settings and work arounds :D!
I have a AMD Phantom 2 6core 3.6 ghz, Radeon R9 280x 3gb, 8gb ram, GS800 corsair power supply. Win7 64-bit
The game runs great, but random crashes are making me not want to play the game. Like I said the game runs great, but every 20 min or so, the game will make my PC crash, and have to restart. I left all of the display settings at default. Should I change them?
this game crashes on any system. XBox1, 360, and PS4,, just read the freaking pages....
crashes happen for many reasons..however their servers are the worst. you can hardly ever get logged into the network and I hate it.
worst part is, good luck getting help to fix the problem... this site is as bad as the servers

That depends on what you expects from the site, of course. It's a community driven website. Some issues simply cannot be fixed by your fellow players. You'll need official support if the forum users here can't help you.

AMD Phantom
Is that one of those Chinese knockoffs, like the Chintendo Vii?
You mentioned an AMD GPU. Are you playing on DirectX or Mantle? Have you tried both?
No... It's an AMD.. it is legit...

I know AMD, but I'm not familiar with the "Phantom" series.
Edit: Do you mean Phenom? I googled Phantom, but the only results were from message boards, not from AMD's site.
