This game keeps making my PC Crash

I have an AMD Phantom 2. 6core 3.4 ghz CPU. ATI Raedon R9 280x 3gb Video card. 8GB of ram. I also have an GS800w Corsair Power Supply.

I cleared my SSD Hard drive to get rid of any virus's I may have.  And this game keeps making my PC crash Randomly. The game runs great, and everything is fine, but every hour or so, the game makes me PC crash and restart.

Can someone please help? My Driver is 14.12 Catalysk Driver.

Disable Origin for DA:I, by right-clicking Dragon Age inside Origin, select 'Game Settings' and enable the only option visible within the new window.

Many players are reporting that a disabled Origin can avoid many issues.

Also close any apps running in the background. Personally I monitored during my sessions, that DA:I is crashing much more often when other apps (like browser) are running in the background.

Nope. Nothing worked. The Crashes Continue. I played other games, like Call of Duty AW, and others with no problems.

It is very frustrating, because the game runs great, but every 20 mins or so, the game will make my PC crash and restart. I am at my wits end. I really want to play this game. Its alot of fun.

Check your chip / mobo / gpu to make sure they're not overclocked and then check to see if you can underclock them. That's helped several people, though game performance obviously dips (mine no longer overheats my chip but I still get microstutter)

  • When you say it makes the PC crash, do you mean it shuts down entirely?

If so, you should check your temperatures. It's possible overheating is making your PC crash.

Many players were not prepared for this game's high CPU usage. This results in several reports of PCs overheating and shutting down. This is a failsafe to prevent damage.

Yes... I know..... And no my PC is not over heating..... I checked....

  • Makes the computer crash??  As in complete shutdown and has to come back on??  That isn't software, which can't do it, it is a hardware issue.  Software crash can't make a computer restart, only a hardware fault can do that.  Look for a heat issue or a psu issue.
