This is seriously annoying. I have tried 5 times now to install with the disk. My drivers are updated and everything is working but my PC keeps freezing then when I reboot it's not showing anything going on with Origin and it is not downloading anything but says files in use and I have to restart the PC again to try installing again. The Can you run it site says I have over the recommended for playing this and that I should have "great experience running this product."...Going to try just downloading but honestly I bought the inquisitors edition for nothing it seems. Disk not working and the owl was broken, but that is a different subject. If anyone figures out why the disk install is so junk I would love to know, and yes I tried the suggestions posted here and it still froze/said it was busy.
1. Completely UnInstall Origin
2. Pop in your Disc 1
3. Open Containing Folder for Dragon Age Inquisition
4. Double click on Setup.exe
5. Download Origin into a Folder where you would like it to be. This can be the same folder you had it before, Just make sure it's into a Folder that is
named Origin. (example: (G: ) > Programsx86 > Origin > )
5a. Once you installed Origin goto Origin Client. Then click on Origin in the top left corner to Redeem Product Code. Enter Your Product Code from the pamphet inside the Gamecase.
6. Proceed into Downloading Game from Disc once Origin is Downloaded.
7. Do Not Change Disc until Pop up from Origin says so. If you do not see pop up then look for the Flashing Origin and mouse over Task bar until you see window pop up. Change to Next Disc and Click Okay Button. Do not worry about the Pop Up for Pictures or Opening the Folder again. You can just Cancel off that window. The Download will continue as normal once you insert the next Disc.
8. Disc 4 Takes a little longer because it contains the additional content. The Disc may say that it's completed it's download. However once you hear your disc 4 stop spinning it then proceeds to try and download from the additional content. From this point the Game seems to get stalled out. To fix this. Just exit Origin, and start the Game from a Desktop Menu. This opens Origin autimatically and starts updating the additional content. Once the additional content is starting to download then proceed to step 9.
9. Make sure Additional Content is downloaded by checking Origin Status Downloaded Content. Once done the Update File will Start downloading for you.
10. Once Game is done downloaded, you can proceed to play the game.
You do not need to reboot your PC.
Please Note that you will not be able to use a Microsoft 360 Rock Candy Wired Controller If you have a Nostromo Controller and or a Orb Weaver Game pad plugged in at the same time. I re-downloaded this game 3 times because of this bug not realizing all I had to do was unplug my Orbweaver gamepad.

Explain "Everything"
This does not help when trying to figure out how to help you. The instructions that I have explained in detailed have worked flawlessly for me twice so far. I am now finishing up my 2nd install and all seems to be working fine for now.

I bought just regular inquisition from game stop. Got home and was super stoked to see 4 disks inside. I put disk 1 in and got the "update your operating system to vista 6 or better" message on windows 7. After trying and failing twice after updating my drivers and windows, I went to the disk. Anything in " " is what you should be looking for on your sceen.
1) Click the start menu (that windows symbol on your task bar)
2) On the start menu, there should be a few options to select from to the righ of your recently accessed files. One of them should say "Computer". Open that. (left click once)
3) This should open a new window/program/screen with all your different hard drives and "Devices with additional storage" (CD's, USB's, etc.). On the Left side (all the way left) of the sceen should be a list of programs, files, hard drives and so on, starting with "Favorites". Locate the section called "Computer". Under that there should be another list of hard drives and "Devices with additional storage". One of those devices should be "DVD RW (E🙂 DA Inquisition 1". double left click on that. The "(E🙂 may be different on your computer, don't worry about that.
4) This should take you to the disk. There will be a few file folders and some images (aren't they pretty?). One of the files should be titled "Autorun". Open "Autorun" (double left click).
5) More folders, more images. Open the "Oringin" folder (double left click).
6) There should be one thing in there, a program called "OriginSetup.exe". Launch (double left click) it. You should get a message about how this will install a non-updated version of EA Origin. Left click confirm. (If your current version of EA is soooo... upto date, why isn't this downloading? Because aliens wear purple hats and EA lie.)
7) After EA Origin has updated itself, go back to the original menu where you clicked on "Origin". You can do this by either repeating step 3, restarting from step 1 (you don't need to close anything to do this), or left clicking the back arrow near the top left corner of the screen tree times. Now find and launch (double left click) Autorun.exe.
8) That started the install from the disk which EA Origin copied at the same time. After disk 1 is finished, a window will pop up asking you to put in disk 2. Put in disk 2 and then click okay on that pop up. Repeat for disks 3 and 4.
Hope that helps.

Had to reboot my entire PC but it seems to have done the trick.
Does anyone else that had the physical copy of DA: Origins Ultimate Edition have it try to keep adding Awakening to your queue? It is very annoying.

how do you "Proceed into Downloading Game from Disc once Origin is Downloaded."
- Anonymous11 years ago
Installing Origin from the Disc solved the problem for me, Just explore the DVD 1 go to Autorun/Origin and run setup, Origin instalation will pop up telling that you are going to install older version, agree anyway after instalation is finished remove and insert Disc again and run Setup. It will work after 5 seconds.
BTW i was't using Origins since ME3 and i thought they fixed that issue already, they just abandoned Origins compeletely.

I am having trouble with step 3. I have been sitting here attempting to install this game from my disc for hours and stumbled upon this. What does step 3 mean and how do I get to it? My internet download speed means that it will take this game a week to complete and I don't have the luxury of waiting that long.
Sorry for the lack of tech-savviness folks.
Edit: I figured out where the containing folder was, but I am still facing the same problem. Ant tips, seeing as the game has been out for quite some time now?
