OK, after so many hours! i found a fix that worked for me. Anyways you guys dont have to uninstall the origin client. All you have to do is download the thin client install file in the origin website and install it. This install will reinstall the Origin files. Once the installation is complete, run the disk setup again and that should run the install. Again this works for me. My system is Windows 8.1 Good luck folks.
P.S. EA you need to reimbursed me for fixing this problem for you.
I got even worse. I got freshly opened DAI from box 10h before official start, but while installing at 25% game had errors reading disc. I pushed that damn thing to 32% then asked for 2nd disc, well it went well to 56%... again error... well **bleep** you... now i need to download game via origin, 8h... GG! Thanks EA...

I had 0 problems with disc 1, but once I got to 33% and it asked for disc 2, I would put in the 2nd disc and then it would simply stay at 33%. It would act like it was doing something, saying "Copying 33%..." but after leaving it all night, I found it was still at 33%. This was the third time, I had already restart my computer twice because at that point, Origin would not cancel/pause/close, even with the use of Alt+Ctrl+Del and Start Task Manager. I uninstalled and reinstalled Origin three times now, tried it offline, etc. like others have suggested, but that 2nd disc does absolutely nothing.

I got the exact same thing... stopped at 33% (disc 2). I'm trying again w/ Origin's thin client. It's already been 3 hours of adding exclusions to Windows, Windows Firewall, Antivirus, several reboots. I have about an hour or two a day to play a video game and haven't played one in about 3 months. This is garbage! I found a "fix" available on IRC that gets rid of the whole "Origin problem", but it also includes a nasty little bitcoin-mining trojan. I'm wondering if I should keep this up or just let the Russians use my machine for bitcoin-mining???
