Hi,
This is actually a multiplatform bug, and it's got a lot of people suffering from it. But we know it's a bug and not simply game design (thankfully!) because other players have spoken at length about how much their companions have, well, spoken at length, and user-uploaded gameplay videos have showcased definitively that there's at least as much banter going on (when functioning properly) as in previous games.

oh thank you, so I take it it's not a xbox 360 version issue but it's a random bug which affects all platforms occasionally? I hope they'll find out what triggers it (inquisitor being a rogue? A certain haircut?) and fix it soon, missing the party banter is like missing half of the game 😕mileysad:

I actually have the game on 2 platforms (PC and Xbox One). The banter is very rare on BOTH platforms. I get banter once every few hours. It wasn't until I saw the threads here and at Bioware forums that I even thought it might be a bug. I just figured they didn't add a lot of banter. I am still not convinced it is a bug. To the people saying that their party banters "all of the time" they are not prefacing that statement with what "all of the time" means to them. To some people, banter every few hours might seem like "all of the time".

No, I can assure you it's not like that, I have a friend who is playing it on pc and I saw a piece of her playthrough, they never shut up and they say a lot of funny things I will never experience in my run ☹️
