Why is Dragon Age 2 the seemingly only game that doesn't have Cloud Storage?

So I got a new computer, and reinstalled Dragon Age 2 to get ready for Inquisition. I didn't bother to back up my save files for Dragon Age or Mass Effect because I thought, "oh, hey, Origina has cloud back up for save files", When I went to get those saves back onto my new computer, I didn't see an option. I opened the game, no option, and the Load option was greyed out. Talked to techinical support, and they tell me that Cloud Storage simply doesn't exist for Dragon Age 2. There is for all Mass Effects, for Command & Conquer 3, but not for Dragon Age 2? I've seen those saves being uploaded, so what the hell is the problem? Why have Cloud Storage, if you aren't going to have it enabled for every major game you release? Why is it available for games that are older then DA2, but not for DA2? Why do the support agents treat you like an idiot?

Did they? You just said they told you the game doesn't support cloud saves. Is that answer not correct?

  • Contact support and they will lie to you just the same as most in here I'm afraid.

Dragon age 2 DID support cloud saves and they have never been officially removed.

For thos who cant read patch notes i present you with http://www.ea.com/news/origin-85-delivers-custom-avatars-and-more

    Specificly the part

"Last – but certainly not least – Origin 8.5 extends cloud storage options to a number of new games, including Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and the upcoming Mass Effect 3. Save to the cloud to access in-game progress from any Origin-enabled PC."

Stop with the **bleep** answers if you reply get your facts straight.

There are multiple posts abouyt this already and there has even been ea reps on the forums saying they will look into this asap (Three months ago)

The only thing we know it was removed by accident but they are in no hurry to get it back.

On a sidenote. You do not need your savegame to be able to import your character to dragon age 3.

    You will use dragonagekeep.com .

  • I spent a long time on the phone with an EA game advisor about this issue specifically. They had some kind of a senior specialist contact me via email, and here was his or her response:

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts. My name is Grace and I was the Specialist assisting you with your Dragon Age 2 cloud saves issue. I apologize for the delay you have experienced in receiving a response; we have been receiving a large volume of contacts recently.

It appears that cloud save functionality was removed from Dragon Age without any prior notice, in the lead up to the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition. There is currently no time-frame on when or if this feature will be reintroduced. I apologize for the frustration this must have caused you; I myself was unaware of this decision, and am a little disheartened.

If you intend to play Dragon Age: Inquisition, and want to import your characters and choices from previous games, you should be able to do so at Dragon Age Keep (you will need your Origin login):
    https://dragonagekeep.com/en_US/

While you cannot import your previously saved games using this feature, you can still ensure that your legacy lives on! The Keep will allow you to recreate your choices down to the last detail, and your Tapestry will record your victories from across the ages!

I was very happy that I was able to assist you with this issue. Thanks again for taking the time to contact EA and please let us know if there is anything else we could do for you.
