Yes, this still happens in the game and, no more patches are planned for DAI. The best two workarounds are either to use tactical camera mode and direct the frozen character to attack again, or quickly switch to them and, make them jump or attack. Either will unfreeze them. I know that isn't ideal but, it's the best any of us can do.
