Zip files from social.bioware.com won't open

I have a problem with all .zip archives downloaded from the bioware social forums end up saying:

"Windows cannot open the folder. The Compressed (zipped) Folder "foldername.zip" is invalid."

Only having these .zip file problems with files downloaded from social.bioware.com.

It was the Tucked Hair mod, but i actually just found out what to do about it yesterday. All the .ZIP files i got from the website were Invalid, but i was able to "repair" them with winrar in the end. Funny how i needed winrar to fix a .zip file... oh well, everythings okay for me now, and i'll post this as the answer if anyone has the same experience as me.

  • Edit: Remeber how it's done.

You use the daupdater program located in Dragon Age/bin_ship and load the right file. Note that the updater can be loacted under different folders depending form which source you have acquired the game from.

For a better description on how it's done see the dragon age wiki.

I do now how it's done with .DAZIP files, but seeing as i'm talking about .ZIP files, the DAUpdater is pretty much useless. I am not talking about dlc content made by Bioware themselves, but about modded content that is stored in zip files on social.bioware.com.

Which project are you trying to download the zip for?

As a side note: If you wish to convert a .dazip to a normal .zip just remove the "da" from .dazip.
