Am I missing something or does Dragon Age: Veilguard have no quicksave? F5 doesn't seem to do anything, and I don't see anything in the keyboard mappings settings either.
(Also, why are save slots limited to 100? Ugh, that means I'll have to copy away old saves manually again...)
2 years later and I must say after running through DA: O, DA: II and DA: I - to come back to this after my first run and find no quick save is most definitely a huge disappointment.
you guys already got my money, but it is sad that the lack of this feature may actually prevent me from doing a second run of this game, let alone a 3rd or more... :-(
also it is annoying that I can't pause but still see the 'play field' - to keep up on combat, without being able to ascertain where all the baddies are to make a plan is bad.
what stinks is so much that was good about DA: O was left out and it just seems that so much got worse as they went instead of better.
Every time I play the game I have to get over a huge pile of annoyance about the lack of Quicksave. WHAT ELSE IS F5 USED FOR?!?!
Everytime you collect something the game saves. You really donโt need quick save. Want a save? Break a crate for the materials & move on.
**bleep** guys, a QuickSave key is PC Game Development 101. Same with remapping the arrow keys. These should be the basics of ANY computer game. Get it together EA Devs!
Was that a deliberate choice on the part of the developers or an oversight?
If it was an oversight, that's worrying - they aren't students, they're professionals.
If it was a deliberate decision? That's baffling. You do not gain anything by forcing us to open the menu to manually save other than to annoy your players and break their immersion.
F5/F9 has been more or less consistent over all four big RPG developers (U,E,B,O) since whenever. Any interest in an ISO standard for RPG user interfaces? ๐
Seems the 100 save limit is per character. Still limited, but at least it's not 100 total. Also upset about the no quick save. :/
I like to believe the quick save was removed for technical reasons.
First screenshot is before saving, second one is after game restart and load the save - notice character position, last one is about the state of destructible assets after load - notice the shelf and close proximity.
As a side note, the broken vase containing health potion which was not picked up will be restored after load. Not working with chest and otheh loot boxes though.
Also hoping for a quick save here ๐
Yeah its a strange decision seeing so all the others had it. Its so annoying breaking gameplay to save.
