Dragon Age: Veilguard Crashes within a minute

Just got the game on steam. It loads up, then goes into the  settings selection menu. Within a few seconds, it freezes and crashes. I tried speeding through the settings, reducing graphics from Ultra to High, same thing. Graphics card (NVIDIA 4090) and Windows is already updated.

It won't seem to send my zip file of my saves, I send my reply and it just disappears

  • I'd just refund it if you can, and come back later if they ever fix it.

It's been 3 patches now and they haven't fixed the issue and seen to have no intention of acknowledging that they sold you a broken product.

Imagine buying a car, the check engine light comes on immediately, and then the car is in the shop for an entire month, comes back, and it still has the check engine light on.

  • Update after a month of crashing every 2 minutes - I can finally play!

As much as I was trying to avoid updating my BIOS, I ended up doing it as a last ditch effort since nothing else worked and I've now been playing for 5 hours straight with 0 crashes. I genuinely didn't think it was my motherboard since it's fairly new & I have a great computer, but apparently that's what it was.

Just for reference, my motherboard is from NZXT and I have a 13th gen intel processor. I've noticed a lot of people with the same issue that have the same parts, so give the update a try if you're in the same boat.

  • Nothing changed on my PC - except the latest patch. And now my whole computer locks up, black screen, and then shuts off when trying to launch Veilguard. Other games are fine. I guess I'll "WAIT" yet again until the next patch...

    Aorus 1200W PSU
    Aorus x670e Master (latest BIOS)
    AMD 7900X3D CPU
    Aorus 7900XTX GPU
    Aorus 64GB DDR5 Memory
Running 3 monitors, main monitor is 34"
    3440x1440p @ 144Hz

Deleted shaders folder, reinstalled the game, checked for GPU updates, changed power plan, looked for BIOS updates.
I give up on getting this game to be stable.

Update: it's all my own fault. My PC didn't meet specs. I got a Steam Deck to play it on.
