EA App not downloading patch
A pop-up window indicates "preparing game" but there is no patch being downloaded.

Update, I went into Task Manager and ensured that all DragonAge and Veilguard and EA products were terminated. Then I recovered the EA App. This gave me an option to "Update" Veilguard that was not present before, I'm now at 90% patched.
