Installation Fails on DirectX issue 4294967281

Same here: See my info 

When the EA app is trying to install Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the installation of DirectX is failing when the EA app runs touchup.

EA error:"Error: A redistributable package (DirectX) was not install successfully. Setup cannot continue. (4294967287)." 

Then DirectX Setup error: "Invalid command line switch."

Then EA Error: "Installation failed. The final stages of installation didn't go as planned. Try again in a little bit."

Last lines of the Install.log:

The above says to check the DirectX.log files, but no new entries were added during the installation. 

I have run the DXSetup command manually as administrator and it worked fine. I have already downloaded and run the dxwebsetup from Microsoft and no issues. I have cleared the EA app cache. Rebooted. Attempted to re-download the game to install. All of this did not get rid of the error. I have had this issue before with installation of EA games, so I could never install them. I have seen many posts on-line about this issue but there seems to be no documented resolution.

this reply is a bit late but it might help others who run into the same problem (as I just did) and try to find an answer on the forums (which sadly had none).

here's what worked for me:

Locate the directx setup in your EA Games Folder and the directx setup (might be Origin Games on some legacy installs) - in my case it was in program files/EA games/dragon age the veilguard/ _installer/dirextx/redist. the specific file name you are looking for is DXSETUP.exe

I ran that as admin (CTRL + SHIFT + rightclick, select run as admin) while the EA client was closed, got the good old fashioned directx setup dialogs, just let it do it's thing, restarted computer, retry EA client and retry installing game, and it finished.
