Loading game removes details from Rook

I went to mess with my graphics and when I restarted the game, like it said to do, Rook lost their hair and any defining features like their tattoos or scars. Was eventually able to get them back after reloading a temporary chapter save, but I had already tried reloading the game twice before that. I don't think it was the graphic switch, since when I saw that it changed Rook I switched them back and it didn't fix it. I've only been playing for two and a half hours but I'm nervous that it might do this anytime I leave the game and come back. From what I've seen online its also a semi-common problem.

Some ways Ive seen people fix it was:

reload a save (not auto save) or a temporary chapter save.

Leave the game and come back (can take a few tries according to some posts)

Get a full faced helmet ( make sure you have show helmet on) , put it on, toggle appearance off, remove the helmet, then toggle appearance back on.

Go to the mirror and pretend like you'll change your features, but just hit save changes. (Warning, apparently the mirror has been setting some people's Rook's to a preset without saving their original work. Use with caution)

Go to the mirror and just remake your whole character.
