Map Closing Bug

Not sure if this is a bug or if they intended it to work this way (I hope not) but it drives me absolutely insane that when I'm in the journal looking at quests and hit "M" to go to the map instead of taking me to the map it closes out the menu entirely and returns me to the game. Why!!!!! If I hit M I want to see the map!!!!!! Stop closing me out!!!!!
