Please allow me to dodge off of surfaces, PLEASE

The combat in this game is very fun, almost perfect, but I will find the most disruptive and highly annoying thing is that I can't dodge off of surfaces. There are almost no consequences for falling off of a cliff or pit, so why can I not just jump off of stairs or off of small ledges?

Please stop trying to protect me by making it impossible. It is highly disruptive to combat flow and something that me and my friends complain about constantly. I made a literal account so I can complain about this. Please just get rid of the random invisible walls on ledges after combat. If I fall, I fall. That's okay.
