EA App is Garbage, Won't Even Open Games

Repeatedly I have had issues with launching games through the EA App.  The EAC popup will appear and then go away and nothing happens.  Fix the * app or let me go back to Origin ffs.

  • At first I thought it seemed fine (the EA replacing Origin's launcher)... then I noticed options missing - like disabling CLOUD, for those who do not WANT that functionality because we have our own backup and/or cloud services which do not limit us to 1gb for all games...   then I noticed that the EA app FAILS when trying to launch several of my legacy games [like Dragonage Inquisition, e.g.).   I'm disappointed - have been paying for the PlayerPro account access as well as owning several titles, but - now that I cannot even use the Origin app [it was nerf'd by EA app installer], I have no way to successfully launch games that were working flawlessly with the Origin launcher.  No changes to the system on my end - and these interruptions for out-of-sync cloud when I have ALWAYS disabled cloud storage [via Origin] - now it wants to force me to use cloud and tells me that there is insufficient room!?? 

    I know - a chorus of whiners and complainers, right EA?    We are your paying customers.  I think a few IT journalists should have a look around down here, where the answers are few to none and the problems and issues are multitudinous.   This deserves some press, since we all seem to be complaining to an empty support service.

  • Ironically, I've had more luck with deliberately not opening the main EA app, but instead making sure the app is closed before launching a game through steam. The Link2EA app seems to actually launch the game as long as you're patient. Still it's not entirely consistent and I still run into the issue of not being able to start the game.

  • Hello in the EA’s settings can you go to Help > EA Error Reporter. Let them know what happens when you click play for that game. Make sure to check the box to share diagnostic information. When you follow up with EA support make sure you note the ticket number. Did you also try repairing the game and restarting the computer. One other thing to try is if you have BF 3, sign into this site and press launch campaign, see if any errors show up.
